1.0 Introduction to Quality in Plastics Manufacturing
- Definition of quality in the plastics industry
- Importance of inspection for customer satisfaction and cost control
- Overview of plastic part production and potential defect sources
2.0 Visual Inspection Techniques
- Standard visual defect types (sink marks, short shots, flash, burn marks, weld lines)
- Use of visual aids, lighting and magnification
- Appearance standards and samples
3.0 Dimensional Inspection
- Critical dimensions and tolerances
- Use of measuring tools: calipers, micrometers, height gauges
- First Article Inspection (FAI)
AFTERNOON SESSION:
4.0 Functional and Fit Testing
- Testing parts for assembly fit and mechanical function
