INTRODUCTION FOR ELECTRONICS AND ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT SAFETY DIRECTIVES – CE MARKING TRAINING
Electrical & Electronics Equipment Safety Training is to give electrical machine manufacturers, modifiers, and those involved in pre-purchase auditing, an understanding of what is required to demonstrate compliance with the Electrical Equipment – CE Marking Training based on the following directives – Machinery Regulation 2023/1230/EU, EMC Directive (2014/30/EU), Low Voltage Directive (2014/34/EU), Radio Equipment Directive – RED Directive (2014/53EU) and RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU).
COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
- Understand Machinery Regulation 2023/1230/EU – OSH requirement as per ISO45001
- Recognise when CE marking of machines is required and which Directives may apply
- Clear understanding on Electronics and Electrical Equipment – CE Marking requirement.
- Understand the Electronics and Electrical risk assessment and safety requirement.
- Gain a good understanding of what is required to demonstrate compliance with the EE Equipment Directive.
- Understand EMC Directive (2014/30/EU)
- Know all about Low Voltage Directive (2014/34/EU)
- Understand Radio Equipment Directive – RED Directive (2014/53EU)
- Know all about RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU).
- Learn how to establish a design risk assessment (DRA) team and process for a new project
- Learn what to expect in the contents of the TCF (Technical construction file)
- Understand how to establish a design risk assessment (DRA) procedure.
- Identify the correct EN standards for industry best practice.
- Identify, estimate and evaluate risks – DFMEA and PFMEA
- Demonstrate and evidence compliance against the Essential Health and Safety Requirements (EHSRs) and common EN standards as a presumption of conformity.
- Know Machinery specifications and Machinery Directive requirements
- Self-sign DoC requirement

- Basic understanding of how machinery, low voltage, EMC, Radio Equipment and Hazardous Substances are managed in your chosen industry

Participants will be involved in:
- 70% classroom lectures with technical explanations.
- 10% group discussions – Work on CE marking assignments
- 10% line visit and product audit – Risk assessment
- 10% selected video shows – CE best practices
