Course Objectives

At the end of the course, the participant will be able to:

  • Explain the legal requirement related to lifting operation.
  • Practice as rigger and signaler.
  • Be able to select what type of sling to be used.
  • Explain the load securing and transportation.
  • Be able to calculate the sling force before lifting being done.
  • Signaler or Banksman be able to carry out the safe lifting operation as to prevent accident.

Course Content

  1. Pendaftaran peserta kursus dan pengenalan tajuk serta tujuan kursus diadakan.
  2. Perundangan dan tanggungjawab dalam Tugasan pekerjaan.
  3. Penerangan aktiviti rigger dan signaler atau Banksman secara khusus semasa pengendalian dilakukan.
  4. Pengenalan apa itu sling, jenis dan teknik rigging dilakukan dan lain-lain alatan (Lifting gears) digunakan.
  5. Pengertian keselamatan secara am dalam akta pekerjaan sling dan rigging. Punca kemalangan dan tindakan perlu mengelakkan dari berlaku.
  6. Penentuan kedudukan pusat graviti beban berdasarkan dari Radius boom jangkauan serta sudut boom dinaikan berdasarkan dari berat dan besar beban dikendalikan serta boleh membuat perkiraan tiap-tiap sling mengikut besar, berat dan sling.
  7. Pemilihan guna sling dan teknik ikatan sebelum beban dikendalikan, dan teknik kawalan menerusi rigger, signaler, tugasan utama Banksman.
  8. Teknik mengenal jenis kerosakan sling dan alat pengangkat (Hook, Shackle, turnbuckle, hammerlock).
  9. Penggunaan alatan tambahan pergantungan (spreader, hanger).
  10. Latihan amali penggunaan sling dan teknik rigging sebenar di tapak pekerjaan dan latihan Banksman dan signaler menerusi pengawalan pergerakkan Operator crane.

Methodology of Training

  • Training will be conducted in Bahasa Malaysia through slide presentations, open discussions, and movie shows.
  • At the end of the training, all the participants have to carry out a hands-on practical session on rigging and signaling procedures.
