INTRODUCTION FOR APPROACH TO ELECTRICAL WIRING

This course covers the electrical wiring system, adhering to the Electricity Supply Act 1990, the Electricity Regulation 1994, and various Malaysian Standards such as MS IEC 60364:2003, MS 1936:2006, and MS 1979:2007. It aims to ensure participants are familiar with the fundamental guidelines for electrical wiring systems and equip them with the necessary skills to work safely, efficiently, and legally on electrical installations. According to the Electricity Supply Act 1990 and Electricity Regulations 1994, any electrical wiring in domestic dwellings must be performed by a competent person approved by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga), the Malaysian governing body. This qualified individual must thoroughly inspect the wiring system for safety and issue an Electrical Installation Certificate that complies with Building Regulation requirements upon completion of the work

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVE

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Design basic electrical wiring system for electrical equipment in building
  • Select effective protective equipment and suitable cables for electrical machinery and equipment
  • Systematic inspection, testing and reporting of completed building wiring system
