Public Program
EMERGENCY GEN-SET & MAINTENANCE
Course Introduction
A standby-generator is an essential equipment, normally installed at any premise which acts as an alternative power source supply in case the normal power supply (TNB) fails. Normally it is left unattended, and operates automatically during the failure of normal power supply. It is a static equipment, usually reliable but unexpectedly may give problems if it is not being maintained using appropriate procedures as required. It needs special attention in terms of close supervision, operations, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting. Failure of the standby generator to operate when there is a power supply interruption may disrupt the smooth operation of production/industries/businesses etc.
Course objective
Upon completion of this course, participants would have learned to:
- To enhance the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of a standby generator;
- To reduce downtime due to failure of the standby generator;
- To ensure smooth operation of the standby generator, and
- To minimize cost of maintenance of the standby generator.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Maintenance Managers/Engineers/Supervisors/Technicians and those who are involved in the planning and executing standby-generator maintenance activities. This course is a must for anyone who is involved with maintenance at industrial plants, utilities or commercial and private building facilities. Attendees come from a wide variety of industries, skill-levels, company sizes, and job titles, so if you are not sure you will fit in or will benefit from the course, do not worry, you will.
