INTRODUCTION FOR NEW CONTROL PLAN (NEW CP)

The purpose of this New Control Plan methodology is to aid in the manufacture of quality products according to customer requirements. It does this by providing a structured approach for the design, selection and implementation of value added control methods for the total system. New Control Plan provides a written summary description of the systems used in minimizing process and product variation.

  • Differiantiate between product and process characteristics.
  • Correct specification and tolerances.
  • Correct measurement techniques.
  • Prepare an effective New Control Plan.

  • Part number latest change level.
  • Part name and description.

Module 2

  • Supplier/Plant.
  • Supplier code.
  • Key contact/phone.
  • Supplier/Plant approval date.

Module 3

  • Original date.
  • Revision date.
  • Customer engineering approval/date (If Req’d).
  • Customer quality approval/date (If Req’d).
  • Other approval/date (if Req’d).

Module 4

  • Part/process number.
  • Process name/operation description.
  • Machine, device, jigs, tools for manufacturing.
  • Characteristics – product or process.
  • Special characteristics or classification.
  • Product/process specification and tolerance.

Module 5

  • Evaluation/measurement technique.
  • Sample size and frequency.
  • Control method.
  • Reaction plan – action and owner/responsible.
