METHODOLOGY
This is an interactive workshop which include:
◆4 skills (speaking, reading, writing(+typing skill on the Chinese Character keyboard) and listening are practiced, with the main emphasis on speaking.
◆ Interactive language activities, group activities and games according to a syllabus based on systematic grammatical progression.
◆ Offer guidance in self-study and set optional homework tasks.
COURSE CONTENT
The content will be supported by consistent work on core grammatical structures, vocabulary patterns and pronunciation.

- Introducing yourself & others

- Common expressions, small talk, the weather
- Networking – the first 5 minutes
Numbers
- Ordinal and cardinal, money
- Time – dates, time
- Making appointments and changing appointments
- Key figures – turnover, margin, trends, forecasts
On the phone
- Making and receiving a call
- Taking a message
- Asking for someone’s number
- Formal and informal forms of address
- Useful expressions – giving an opinion, making a suggestion
Course Topics | Details |
Pronunciation & Pinyin | Students will be taught how to pronounce romanized Chinese words and the 4 tones (Pinyin). Understanding this skill can enable students to use Google Translate or reading aids when needed. |
Master Counting Numbers | Students will be taught on how to Master counting numbers from 1 – 9,999 in minutes. They will be then taught how to apply them on a day to day business with Chinese people, Example, asking & giving phone numbers and listening important points during Chinese conversations. |
Date & Time | Students will be taught how to ask and mention dates as well as time.

Asking & Giving Directions | Students will be taught on how to ask for directions from locals. Tips and tricks will be taught on how to ask help giving directions from strangers. |
Greetings, Self Intro, Common Phrases | Students will be taught how to greet and introduce themselves professionally with Chinese people. They will also be equipped with common phrases to make a lasting impression. |
Weather | Weather vocabulary will be taught that will be very useful in China.
Know how to describe the weather and temperature etc. |
Collective Nouns | Collective Nouns is very important that compliments the Numbers Chapter.

Money | Students will be taught on useful vocabulary in this chapter. They will be taught on asking & mentioning prices. How to listen prices spoken in Mandarin. |
Query Words (5W 1H) | Students will be taught on Query words and how to use them in a simple way when constructing sentences |
Restaurant Dining | Students will be placed into 2 roles ( Waiter, Customer)
They will be taught on how vocabularies, making the order from the menu right up to asking the bill. |
Outdoor Interest | Students will be taught to apply Mandarin when shopping. Simple bargaining techniques. Tips and tricks will be taught to make a great impression with Chinese people. |
Health & Emergency | In case of an emergency, what needs to be done, how to get help from the locals. Communicating with doctors on health issues. |
Introduce Malaysia | The multicultural and spotlight of Malaysia, places, food and cultural…

Getting to China | A general knowledge about China before getting in for business trip or vocation. With trainer’s true live experience in different state of China, will share the Do & Don’t, and the survivor life skills during this session. |
Cross Culture | Sharing the concept of living and working peacefully and productively in a multi culture environment in term of nationalities, religions, languages, cultures, and etiquette. |
