INTRODUCTION FOR ELECTRICAL SAFETY AWARENESS AND ELECTRICAL LEGISLATION IN MALAYSIA

Working with electricity can be dangerous. Engineers, technicians, and others who work or use power tools or equipment with electricity directly, including working on overhead lines, cable harnesses, and circuit assemblies, must be aware of the risks involved.

Electricity has been recognized as a serious workplace hazard. Electrical standards such as acts and regulations are designed to protect employees exposed to electricity hazards during work. This course provides an overview of basic electrical safety for workers with limited knowledge and training or familiarity with electrical hazards.

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Be familiar with the basic concepts of electricity.
  • Understand electrical legislation, regulations, and acts.
  • Recognize common electrical hazards in the workplace.
  • Be familiar with electrical protective devices.
