INTRODUCTION OF HEALTH AND HYGIENE MANAGEMENT PREVENTION FROM ILLNESSES OR DISEASES
The training and workshop enables the participants to understand various issues Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Public Health and Public Hygiene. Occupational Health are about the Promotion and maintenance of the physical, mental and social levels of staff in all work sectors; Prevention from illnesses and diseases due to the workplace or process; Protection from risks at work; Placement of workers in environments and job tasks suitable to their physiological and psychological capabilities. Then, the word hygiene is derived from the name of the Greek goddess of health known as Hygeia. She was the daughter of Asklepios and sister to Panacea. While her father and sister were connected with the treatment of existing disease Hygeia was regarded as being concerned with the preservation of good health and the prevention of disease. Hygiene is the science or principles of health and the prevention of disease. This course provides a general introduction to emerging respiratory viruses, including novel coronaviruses. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are known to cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS). A novel coronavirus (CoV) was identified in 2019 in Wuhan, China. This is a new coronavirus that has not been previously identified in humans. This course provides a general introduction to nCoV and emerging respiratory viruses and is intended for employer and employees on handling the outbreak based on Ministry of Health Guidelines and WHO Guidelines.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
This course aims to provide delegates with a thorough understanding of Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Public Health and Public Hygiene. Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the regulations/legislation related with Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Public Health and Public Hygiene
- Understand the Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Public Health and Public Hygiene Promotion Program and maintenance of worker optimum physical, mental and social levels.
- Understand the methods of prevention from illnesses or diseases arising from the workplace or work processes.
- Understand on how to increase quality of work environment and work processes suitable to worker safety and health conditions.
- Understand on the nature of emerging respiratory viruses, how to detect and assess an outbreak, strategies for preventing and controlling outbreaks due to novel respiratory viruses;
- Understand on the strategies should be used to communicate risk and engage communities to detect, prevent and respond to the emergence of a novel respiratory virus.
- Understand on the Business Continuity Planning for COVID-19
TRAINING METHODOLOGIES
This training and workshop program uses adult learning methods such as lectures, group discussion, power point presentations and games. Participants will spend half of the time in individual or group activities that allow them to become familiar with the essential skills for establishing, implementing and maintaining Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Public Health and Public Hygiene Promotion Program including pandemic disease emergency management program in an organization and for developing individual skills to face such emergencies.
