INTRODUCTION FOR SCHEDULED WASTE MANAGEMENT

This training enhances the audience understanding on environmental awareness through the concept of environmental pollution from the perspective of toxic waste management. Scheduled wastes are very toxic and dangerous to the environment as well as to human health. Improper waste management will result in classification as a ‘non-compliances’ or an illegal dumping case.

Cleaner production is the continuous application of an integrated preventive environmental strategy applied to processes, products, and services to increase eco-efficiency and reduce risks for humans and the environment.

Analysing environmental management systems implemented on the basis of cleaner production (CP) projects demonstrates, that CP supplies management and employees with systematic tools to decrease the environmental impact and at the same time CP saves costs from inefficient use of materials and energy and motivates the organization as well by creating awareness throughout the enterprise. Such CP management strategies are heading for:

  • Productivity of materials
  • Energy efficiency
  • Material flow management
  • Preventive environmental protection
  • Sustainable use of natural capital
  • Service orientation
  • Legal compliance to Scheduled Wastes Regulations 2005

Participants will gain a better understanding on Scheduled Wastes Regulations 2005, special management of scheduled waste and classification transportation and disposal of scheduled wastes. Companies should take this opportunity to clarify any issues through the training session.

By the end of this training, all participants shall be able to assess, practice and recommend improvement on the overall Scheduled wastes Minimization through CP projects in their workplace with full confidence.
