INTRODUCTION TO OMRON PLC PROGRAMING & TROUBLESHOOTING (LEVEL 1)

This course provides participants with a solid base of Omron PLC fundamental understanding and skills necessary for successful system diagnostics and repair. This course is ideal for beginner with little or no previous experience with Omron CP PLC system. 

The course is designed with fully functional application programs are used as a baseline for the participant to understand key process flow information, diagnostics tools, repair & basic programming techniques. The main intension of this course is to make sure the participants gain basic & fundamental knowledge of Omron CP PLC system and able to handle troubleshooting and maintenance job at plant with ability to modify minor programs when ever needed.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

• Understand fundamental of Omron CP system hardware & software systems.
• Understand programming language used at Omron environments
• Familiarize with hardware configuration tools .
• Use CX programmer tools for basic programming functions.
• Understand logical instructions set used in PLC programming language.
• Understand addressing of omron PLC devices.
• Able to create , upload , download , backups & archive plc programs using different type of communication methods.
• Use the CX programmer Studio to inspect and troubleshoot basic hardware problems.
• Fundamental analog device , concept and working principle in Omron PLC controller.

COURSE CONTENT

Day 01

• Omron system family overview.
• The hardware architecture of the range of controllers.
• Basic I/O modules and wiring principles.
• Addresses used in the range of controllers & training units and addressing.
• Hardware configuration & hardware commissioning
• Structure of the programming standard.
• Instruction set – relay, maths, move, compare and logic functions.
• CPU configuration, setting parameters and application of several I/O cards using the CX programming software.
• Omron PLC architecture and program scan cycle fundamental.
• Communicating with the PLC & downloading and uploading PLC programs.

Day 02

• Explanation on Input, Outputs, Memory, Data Formats.
• Program structure.
• Using and creating program documentation , copying , archiving and retrieving projects.
• Symbolic notation & generating cross reference.
• Data monitoring and modifying variables & block compares operation.
• Online monitoring, searching and using the cross-reference.

Day 03

• Diagnosis and resetting faults.
• Using debug for device monitoring.
• Fundamental of analog devices and working principles.
• Omron PLC analog system troubleshooting techniques.
• Data monitoring and modifying variables.
• Quick troubleshooting techniques using reverse engineering method.
