INTRODUCTION TO AERIAL & SCISSOR LIFT SAFETY TRAINING
This course is designed to familiarize scissor lift operators with the different types of hazards related to Aerial & Scissor Lifts, as well as help the operators understand what preventive measures that they can take to stay safe while operating or working near them.
Aerial & Scissor Lifts are work platforms used to safely move workers vertically and to different locations in a variety of industries including manufacturing, retail, and construction. Due to their versatility, they provide convenience to employees by eliminating the additional need of scaffolding or ladders to perform common tasks.
This internal competency program was designed with the initiative to increase awareness of Aerial & Scissor Lift Operators on aspects pertaining to personal safety, surrounding people and the properties while operating the vehicles. This course will also indirectly increase the skill, knowledge, and mental preparation of the Aerial & Scissor Lift operators.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to :
- Identify cause and effect of accident and sensitiveness about safety
- Identify the character and the functions of Aerial & Scissor Lifts components
- Recognize the types of hazards associated with Aerial & Scissor Lift
- Carry out daily inspection safety, performance and preventive maintenance
- Train Aerial & Scissor Lifts operators become more cautions, safe and efficient
- Explain safe work practices related to the inspection, maintenance, fall protection,
stabilization, and positioning - Discuss training and re-training requirements for employees who use them on the job
